"Girls in Rhythm is a great break from the typical all girl movie out there. To start with, no, the movie doesn't last much past an hour and a half and yes, there's only two scenes. I know that those two things will lose a lot of people right there, but this is definitely going to be their loss. The setups are simple and work nicely to bring some chemistry into the scene, and the girls in each scene only kick the chemistry up higher as they move on. There's a great feeling of reality to both the girls, who actually look like people rather than a designer mannequin out of a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon's office, and that feeling of reality goes right through the sex. There's never a single moment where one could doubt that the girls aren't completely into each other, and although the action might be a little soft for some, the passion and chemistry raises it up to the point that I could barely even think of looking away during each scene even when the second one did start to get a tad long. Blowfish review of Intimate Moments Shared: "Intimate Moments: Shared is a great idea with a charming, sexy execution, produced by AbbyWinters.com, an Australian company that specializes in all-girl amateur films with a feminist bent (so it's more about embracing the sensuality of womanhood than fetishizing teenage girls, which is a nice change). The set-up is simple. Two girls in a room with a camera, masturbating to orgasm. These aren't lesbian scenes per se -- each woman is mastering her own domain, as it were -- but there are some moments of mutual masturbation and the occasional lending of a helping hand for a caress or nipple-tweak. There's no director, and no cameraman, either, so the camera doesn't move, but the static shot, usually from the foot of the bed, only serves to heighten the realism. There's no sense that the women are acting, either, and their performances range from the shy and the demure to the loud and exhibitionist. Watching young, cute women (with adorable Australian accents) bring themselves to climax is wonderful, but their conversations are often just as good, as they share fantasies, talk about techniques, or just chat. Despite the fundamental artificiality of filming two women masturbating side-by-side, the scenes feel very real and unmediated, and it really does feel like you're peeking in at, well, intimate moments. Blowfish review of Girls in the Groove: "Girls in the Groove features two nice long scenes, very lightly edited, of lesbian couples making love. There are no interviews, not much in the way of small talk, basically no props, no set dressing, no fancy lingerie, no distractions -- just girls having playful sex. There's an unrehearsed, impromptu quality to the scenes, which is charming. The camerawork is hit-or-miss -- sometimes you can tell there's something hot happening, but you can't quite see over the shoulder of the girl on top, or the angle is a little too sharp. That's occasionally frustrating, but it also adds to the illusion of verisimilitude; these girls clearly aren't thinking much about blocking or camera position, and they seem to be doing what comes naturally. Chloe B. and Paula are up first in a sweet, slow scene, with lots of hot kissing and a gradual exploration of one another's bodies. Ava and Tammy B. are rather more passionate and athletic in their scene, providing a nice counterpoint to the more languid lovemaking of the first couple. The girls seem to be fresh-faced amateurs, and there's an openness and warmth to the scenes that's marvelously refreshing.
